There is a fishery at Quarter, just outside Hamilton, where a permit (£10) is required and a great catch of trout is guaranteed. £6 will buy a permit for 'catch and release'.

Open 9.00am-7.00pm. ca. £12 for 4 hours – max. of 4 fish. Beginners' pond as well as large loch. Someone is usually there at weekends if you need any help but bring your own rods.
